In this tasting, we have embraced the exciting challenge of picking five of our most special references from the Dom Diogo and Quinta da Raza ranges. It was a tough choice, but we’re sure it won’t disappoint your expectations. So, we’ll start by highlighting the native grape varieties of the Basto sub-region, Azal and Padeiro, in their respective single varietals from the Dom Diogo range. We’ll continue by tasting Quinta da Raza’s most consensual and award-winning wine, the beautiful Alvarinho-Trajadura blend, followed by the single-varietal Quinta da Raza Alvarinho, where the noblest Portuguese white grape expresses its full potential. We’ll finish with a wine of superior quality that contradicts some of the myths established about Vinho Verde, such as its inability to age and the uselessness of barrel aging: Quinta da Raza Avesso-Alvarinho 2020, which is a powerful, full-bodied, and highly complex wine that stands up to the best in the ‘Winter White Wines’ category.
