Arinto

Cultivated throughout the Vinho Verde region, it is in its more inland areas that it finds the best conditions to express its full potential. Its geographical distribution is not limited to the north-west of Portugal, but it is also found in other wine-growing areas and regions, so it is not surprising to see the profusion of synonyms, such as 'Pedernã', 'Azal Galego', 'Perdigão', 'Pé de Perdiz', among others. It is characterized by its vigorous character and low fertility, giving rise to large, very compact and heavy bunches.
